Child Labour Project Scheme

 NATIONAL CHILD  LABOUR PROJECT SCHEME:



-To contribute to the withdrawal of all adolescent workers from Hazardous Occupations/Processes and their Skilling and integration in appropriate oocupations.

-Raising awareness amongst stakeholders and target communities.

-Creation of a Child Labour Monitoring Tracking and Reporting System.

  Salient Features:

- This is central Sector Scheme.

- The overall approach of the project to create an enabling environment in the target area,where children are motivated and empowred through various measures to enroll in schools and refrain from working and households are provided with alternatives to improve their income levels.

- Children of the age between 5 to 8 years are rescued and linked to the formal education system.

- Children in the age group og 9-14 are put into NCLP Special Training Centres for providing them with a bridge education,vocational training mid-ray meal stipend,health care,etc.

- Funds are provided directly to the District Project Societies who is turn engage and and allocate the funds to NGOS/Voluntry/Civil Societies organization etc.

-A dedicated online portal named PENCIL (Platform for Effective Enforcement for No Child Labour)is developed in order to make the NCLP successful through better monitoring and implementation ensuring the timely disposal of work with transparency.

-The payment of stipend to the children is made on modular basis for a minimunm of three moonths through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

- Under this scheme the District Project Societies are set up under the Collector/District Magistrate to conduct survey to identify children working in hazardous occupations and processes and for overseeing the implememtation of the project.
